Alert Two reports of agressive dogs just after Oseira

Safe to say I'm not that brave but I picked up a couple of rocks last time I had a dog appear. Faced them the entire time, walked backwards away in the direction I was going... They kept thier distance and I tossed the stones a bit later.

LIVE from the Camino Fuente de Cantos accommodation

I did the same. We had a quick pub afternoon it to eat and then just rocked up to the Albergue. The Mayor and let us in and afterwards we headded down to the pub for dinner as a group. Was a crazy day, we all sort of bonded over the tornado. edit- added some km markers from the way.

    A Quiet Camino Route?

I've been lucky enough to walk this way twice. The pro's there are days where you can see a pilgrim a click or two a head and a click or two behind and you have space. You wave when they pass but you dont have to talk. It hurts to talk some days. There are otherdays blessidly, where you say good...

    de la Plata from Africa

hey mate, in May i started my walk in Gibraltair. Before hand I took the fast ferry from Algeciras to Ceuta and back. It was fun and the the bus to La Línea de la Concepción is super easy. Theres a good hostel above a pizza place but the name escapes me. Anyway the Via Serrana is a fantastic...

    What camera do you use?

Well I left Australia with grand dreams of capturing my trip on film. A Day in each major city taking in the sights on my black and white obsession. In preperation I bought film and set up my kit and got everything ready. Okay i would suffer with 2-3 kg of cameras and film but my addiction...

Which are the “wilder” (least paved, most rural) Spanish routes?

Would 100% recomend this route if you want to be in the mountains and solo. After talking to the locals at several points this camino would be amazing during Spring. I really need to develop the film from the trip! Happy Camino Hunting. also do you know about waymarked trails...

    Getting to Gibraltar

Hey wildtrout, I walked from Gibraltar to Santiago earlier this year. Was more than bit surprised how hot it got up in the mountains near Olivera but also how much I would come to miss the peace of it all when I got to Orense. Good on you for going this route! Would 100% go again but probably in...

Round 3 - Back on the way again - Rock to Rock.

The moment you realise you haven't posted in a while you've been swept up on the way. Somehow you've been walking for 2 weeks without talking? more like 4 weeks and you have completely forgotten to update your thread... I thought I just jump in and throw down some photos from the trip so far...

Round 3 - Back on the way again - Rock to Rock.

First stage of the Via de Plata complete. Were to begin. The Cathedral is a beautiful sight first thing in the pre dawn light. It was blissfully cool as I walked from the cathedral through town across the Triana bridge. That never gets old it's really one of my favourite places. A quick bite...

Round 3 - Back on the way again - Rock to Rock.

Today is my short stage... Corpie to Montellano. Left at 6:30am to beat the heat. After the last 6 days of climbs an falls the rolling hills were a leg burn and a welcome change. I decided on this short stage because I was a bit exhausted an feeling a little off colour. Anyway currently...

Round 3 - Back on the way again - Rock to Rock.

Corpie is probably on of my favourite towns so far. Yes the climb up the hill is a bit of hell in the afternoon sun but well worth it. I found a shop selling blank compstellas an gained another stamp. After trying to buy a bandana for my neck I ended up buying an umbrella! Portable shade...
