Portuguese Coastal Camino. Porto to Santiago.

Thanks Sheena for your itinerary!! I loved it as it reaffirmed mine in that it looks really doable for us. I have a health issue at present that reared it's ugly face long after our trip was planned. So I have been forced to adjust the length of our daily walks and your stops are exactly what I...

    Camino Portugués - Coastal Route

My husband and I are beginning our first Camino in Porto also in March, starting the 17th, so just a day after you. We don't need to get to Santiago until March 31st. I think that you only need to remain flexible. Don't be hard on yourself due to possible limitations. Remember, there are buses...

Thanks so much for your views! It has really helped me figure out where I want to switch over!

Advice on coastal route from Porto versus internal route

Thanks so much for your input. I've been trying hard to decide where to turn off the coastal to meet the central and just as I thought I'd decided to do it at Caminha, I read your suggestion to cut over at Vila de Conde because there wasn't much interesting further north! Vila de Conde isn't...

    Senda Litoral

Yes!Your response actually confirmed our decision recently to do just that! We will start on the coastal and at any point the weather is too windy/rainy, we will move central. We won't book ahead but rather choose along the way depending on how far we can walk each day. Thank you so much!

    March 2019 Camino Coastal - weather/accomodations

Thanks so much for the info. My husband and I will certainly take you up on it but of course we won't have an exact night/s until we get close to it. Our plan is to leave Valenca and head there for a couple of nights maybe, then head back up to Tui. We are starting from Porto March 7th 2019...

    Senda Litoral

Jill, thanks for the details! But from what you said, I'm thinking my husband and I better not do the Litoral because we are doing it in March of 2019 and this is still winter. I'm thinking the coast might be worse weather? What is your opinion on us trying to do the coastal until we reach Tui...

    walking from Porto to Santiago

Thanks for the info! Maybe we will run into you, who knows? No, we do hike some in the mountains in the PNW but if a lot of rain or snow is expected, we stay home...ha! We prefer fair weather and there is a lot of weather that is fine and not too hot to hike in during the summer and fall.

Advice on walking the coastal route from Santiago to Porto.

Jill, am I missing something? Are there maps for the Costa Camino Portugues? Thanks, as I can't find any

    walking from Porto to Santiago

Thank you! This was very helpful. My husband and I are 66 and 69 respectively and haven't walked before. Coming from the Pacific NW, we are used to rain but we still don't like hiking in it. However, due to our complicated itinerary elsewhere, we have only two choices. Do it in March or skip it...

    walking from Porto to Santiago

Would love to hear from someone who has done the coastal part of the Camino from Porta to Santiago in the month of March! Certain info I haven't found as to the general weather...is it very rainy and/or windy? My husband and I are traveling for 4 months and this will only be part of our trip, so...
