If you have/are walking this summer... Would you do it again, knowing the restrictions/challenges?

I am female on the Primitivo now. It’s been amazing - my third time here on this route - all different. Reservations have been absolutely necessary because it is August and there are many people walking. In spite of that, I have had no concerns about walking.

    Carrion de los condes

I took a photo of a card posted by the "singing nuns" - the Agustinas at the Albergue Parroquial Santa María and was told to use that information if I was interested in volunteering.

Surprising background of the Alto del Perdon

One can find a number of memorials to civil war victims on different caminos as well as the remnants of glorification of those who fought for Franco (although they are disappearing now - the first photo is in Azofra, the second in Villambistia - just after Tosantos).

That couldn't be carried, so we had a support car, which was a VW bus. Each day, one...

Walking the Caminos in the 70's or 80's

For those who are interested, the pictures are of Grañón, Rabanal del Camino, El Ganso, Manjarín - yes, there were still buildings standing then, El Acebo, and O Cebreiro.

Walking the Caminos in the 70's or 80's

I walked the Camino in 1974 as part of a student group led by David Gitlitz. I'll try to upload a few photos (scanned slides, of course) that I took of some of the small towns that we walked through. They look very different today.

    Service Dog

A number of years ago, a blind pilgrim arrived with a service dog at the municipal albergue in Logroño and was allowed to stay (the dog was wearing booties). One of the hospitaleros took the dog out for a walk as well. But I don't know whether Spain understands the use of service dogs for anyone...
