Good Luck! It will be a wonderful journey. I'm curious about the weather at this time if year? Colder than Canada? I live in Calgary. I imagine that the colours will be grand. Enjoy!

    It's Different This Year

Yes, absolutely! I made a generalization in one if my posts and have had a good chance to reflect on a lot - the posts and my own recent walk. The feedback on a lot of different threads (mine included) has been interesting and lessons learned. Thanks for the feedback. S

What is the one albergue you would avoid?

Thanks for responding. It's so interesting to hear the different opinions. There have been other places listed that people panned that I thought were just fine. There are so many factors that can influence us. For me, sometimes the social possibilities, the kindness of the hospitalero or the...

    It's Different This Year

I've been enjoying all of the dialogues on the various dimensions of the Camino. It's such a metaphor for what happens in life. On the Camino, there are those high moments as well as the ones in which you struggle; there are individuals or groups of folks who might get under your skin and...

What is the one albergue you would avoid?

I stayed there last year and thought it was fine. Did you actually spend time in the living quarters? I liked the set up of bunks being in groups of 4. The kitchen facilities were good as well.

    It's Different This Year

Last year I walked from Burgos to Santiago and returned this year to walk from SJPP to Burgos. For the most part, i walked the in part of May and June. The first 6 days of this trip were rain-filled. It takes more cognitive and physical energy to keep yourself safe while walking in conditions...

Just how difficult is it getting over The Pyrenees..

Thank you for your comments. . I hike a lot in the Rockies west of Calgary and people I know who have hiked the Camino have told me that if I hike in the Rockies then the Pyrennes will be manageable.

    Sleeping bag or not ?

Last year I walked from May 20 to June 10 and used only a silk liner. I also slept in my clean set of clothes and was fine with the temperature between the two. It's really a personal preference. As long as my feet and head are warm, I can sleep. That being said, I always wore my hat and...

    luggage storage in Biarritz/Bayonne

Good news! I did find a storage company in Paris and will use it. This makes the most sense for me as I will be travelling through Paris for the Camino. I am using Blue Marble Travel. They specialize in cycling tours and also have a luggage storage business.

I am looking for the same option. Storing a small carry-on in Biarritz or in SJPP. I'll keep my eyes posted.

    Luggage Storage in Burgos?

Thanks Lydia. Hopefully there is something. I'm not totally tied to bringing a post- Camino bag so if there isn't one, it will be fine.

    Luggage Storage in Burgos?

Hey There: I walked the Camino last May-June 2012 from Burgos to Santiago. I feel drawn to it again and am thinking of walking the first part from SJPP to Burgos in late May. After doing part of the Camino, I would like to do some travelling. I would like to bring a small carry-on bag with...
