Yes I agree. Brother Lawrence is a splendid chap. He runs a tight ship in the Sobrado Monastery but is very pleasant to talk to with some interesting stories.

Hostal in Lourenzá

Just a note to highly recommend Casa Gloria in Lourenzá. Very reasonably priced if 2 people sharing with breakfast included. Spotless with excellent bathroom. Washing machine available. 4* experience.

Albergue Ribadesella closed?

It was closed when we walked through at the end of May. People in the albergue at San Esteban de Leces were saying that the owner had died.

1. New albergue in Deba is excellent. Book at the tourist information office. The bar opposite does excellent early breakfasts 2. Stage from Markina- Xemein to Guernica is very well waymarked and had a lot of improvements. 3. Can highly recommend restaurante Pitis in Markina- Xemein. Good...
