Dinner time on the VDLP

I did not find this to be the case (anymore) when walking the VdlP in 2023. Many places did not serve food before 8 pm or even later which was pretty annoying. As others have mentioned before, we too changed our routine into opting for a menu del dia (often 12 €, usually choices of primero...

Albergue La Almazara near Villafranca

A fellow pilgrim was staying there in the end of September 2023. He called the day ahead when in Calzadilla de los Barros. But by then, it was definitely still listed on gronze, so I wouldn’t count on staying there, at least at the moment. Such a shame as it makes for a perfect stop when...

Thanks for this! Glad it doesn’t seem to be hopeless to find accommodation and food but booking ahead and carrying enough food for these days even in bigger places seems to be essential

Hi all The Caminobug has hit me again and since I got the opportunity to take off from work for 4+ weeks around Christmas, I’m thinking about a spontaneous Camino, possibly the VdlP starting from Seville or maybe even Cádiz. I’ve walked the VdlP before (spring), so I’m aware of what to expect...
