    I carry valuables in zipped cargo pockets and a small front- facing waist pack with shoulder straps. I also stash a small amount of cash in my day pack just in case.

    Yes! My iPad (ereader) goes everywhere with me. I didn’t get a lot of reading done but it was a comfort having it with me. I had my luggage forwarded by Camino Facil so the extra weight was of no concern in my day pack.

    On rainy cold Fall days, I wear a Marmot rain jacket under my poncho to keep my arms dry. I also wear rainpants, sometimes with thin silk long johns underneath so that I don't have to feel the inside of the rainpants on my bare legs. Then last but not least, gaiters to keep my boots/trail...
