Accommodations between Matosinhos and Vila do Conde

Does anyone know of accommodations betwee Matosinhos and Vila do Conde. Brierley's 2010 update to his guide says it is about 23 K between the two and that is a bit much for our old bones!

i am also interested in which is the best way to get to Matosinhos? is the walk dangerous from Porto? is it well marked? or is it better to take a metro till Matosinhos?
