Albergue in st. Jean

So my friend and I are taking the 6pm bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles, and likely won't arrive in St. Jean until 2000. As far as I can tell the pilgrim office closes at 2000, is there a way to book an alburgue somewhere ahead of time so we have a cheap place to sleep? We don't have the money for a hotel.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
The Pilgrim Office stays open until about fifteen minutes after the last train/bus arrives, so they will be there to help. You can search online for a "gite" for the "albergue" type accommodations in SJPdP. You can book into many of them in advance. The Pilgrim Office will help if you arrive without a reservation.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The SJPdP Pilgrim Office is located on the camino at 39 rue de La Citadelle.

The office is open every day and in season from early in the morning until late at night ie after the arrival of the last bus/train. The helpful multi-lingual volunteers can provide you with a Credential and stamp if needed, as well as a list of major albergues and current weather/ trail conditions. They can also help locate a bed/bunk for the night. Most importantly the office is a great spot to meet/ greet other pilgrims.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

Give Booking.com a look; that website should be able to locate and reserve accomodations.

Hi @Kjack2222 - you mention taking a bus from Pamplona to Roncesvalles, but that you are heading for St Jean - how are you planning to get from there to St Jean? There isn't much at Roncesvalles in the way of other transport options, and a taxi would probably blow your budget. You can get a bus from Pamplona at 5.30pm (I think) with a different bus company (Alsa) which goes all the way to St Jean. It's more expensive (22 Euro online, although others have mentioned cheaper prices) but much cheaper than having to get a taxi if you get stuck in Roncesvalles. Just a thought.

Buen Camino whatever you decide!
