Whaaaaaat? You're not going to take the train from Bayonne to SJPP!early stages of planning a departure from SJPP....
Any pilgrims here know how much a cab from Bayonne to SJPP would possibly cost? Arriving on a Sunday and the trains don't run as frequent, trying to avoid spending the night in Bayonne...
Thanks!
Whaaaaaat? You're not going to take the train from Bayonne to SJPP!That's part of the Camino experience . And Bayonne is well worth an overnight!!!
But no, I don't know the cost of a taxi from Bayonne to SJPP.
Hy , I take the train from Rotterdam ( the Netherlands ) Cost me 94 Euro, that is cheaper as taking a taxi from Bayonne. I wish you happy planning and a Buen Camino.early stages of planning a departure from SJPP....

While I am happy you agree with me (in this bit of fun) and I share your sentiments above, I have to temper my opinion with the appreciation that not everyone, at all times, might want to have this kind of experience or, for that matter, any kind of experience. Constantly, I try to remind myself that persons have their own reasons for arranging things whichever way they like, and it behooves me to support them, as others on this thread are supporting the OP. I fully accept that each person is free to arrange his Camino whichever way works best for him.I agree, the train ride from Bayonne to St. Jean is a true Camino experience. I loved listening to the other pilgrims chatter on, even if I couldn't understand the language. There was just so much excitement on that train!

Look at www.biarritzairporttransfers.com. It depends on the number of travellers. max 12, makes à Nice price.
I forgot to say in an earlier post that Express Burricot in-fill their taxis to reduce individual costs. On their web-site they have a section showing when taxis are booked and the seats available, so maybe you can keep an eye on this and choose to join a suitable one. How are you getting to Bayonne? Via Biarritz airport? If so the chance of sharing a taxi after a Ryanair flight is quite high and may come closer to the bus/train cost. I understand your reasoning for asking, but understand experience found in the posts of others. Worth noting that the Pilgrim's Office doesn't close until after the last train arrives. Good luck.
We're taking a train from Paris and we don't get into Bayonne until 3:30 pm, so we miss the last train to SJPP.
Thank you
I too arrived on the TGV in Bayonne on a Sunday after the last train in October of 2013. I was able to take a bus that left after dark and put me in SJPDP about 15 minutes before the registration desk closed. It worked, but I would have preferred to have enjoyed the daylight train ride and then enjoyed St Jean. Any how their may be a night bus you could take.early stages of planning a departure from SJPP....

Your welcome.Thank you
First time I travelled from Biarritz to SJPdP it was pouring with rain, visibility was next to zero in a steamed up shared taxi. But that just encouraged even more conversation!I would have preferred to have enjoyed the daylight train ride
