Baztan Albergue Accommodation - late April 2023.

Time of past OR future Camino
Camino Frances: 2018,19, 22, 23 and 24.
I am planning to walk the Camino Baztan in the last week of April 23 (then along the Frances to the Invierno). I prefer Albergue accommodation if at all possible. Is late-April too early for the Baztan albergues to be open? Would a delay into early-May be better? Thanks and Cooee.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
Gronze.com will be your friend here as they do a good job posting open/close dates. Having walked in that area several times (but not the Batzan specifically), I’d say most places open up in early April

Hi Geoff,
You'll also find regularly updated information on the Baztan Facebook page. I found the page administrator very helpful in the past, so you also could try sending her a message.

Easter is relatively early next year (9th April), so the albergues may be open from then.

Happy planning and Buen Camino.

Thanks, early-April would be great. I need to book soon, it is a long way from Australia and fares are rising all the time. I have used Gronze on past Caminos and will get into that to check opening dates. All the best.

Many thanks - will have a look at that. Late-April looks OK at this stage.

All the best.
