Am Planning to start late August or beginning of September 2020,
Does anyone have any suggestions for starting 3 or 4 days out of Porto, then have a few days in Porto to look around and then continue on.
Will be flying into Lisbon but don’t want to start there and plan on taking the train to where ever I decide to start, after Porto I then take the Lateral, I have walked CF in 2017 and have heard Portuguese is not sign posted as well but that does not really worry me but would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for small hotels or Casa Rurals, I will be having my 70 Birthday not long after I return to Australia

The Central route is well-marked all the way from Lisbon, the Coastal/Senda Littoral from Porto as well. I walked there without any maps, apps, internet or gadgets, didn't get lost. The infrastructure from Porto onwards is plentyful, almost as good as on the Frances now. There is a full list of Coastal/Senda Littoral Camino in the Resources section. Depending on how many km/day you are planning to walk, your 3-4 day start out of Porto could be Esposende/Viana do Castello/Caminha. On the Portugues you can walk anything between 10 and 40km/day and find accommodation easily now. Bom Caminho!
 
Viana do Castelo is a wonderful small city and very easy to access by regular train from Porto! That would seem a practical and pleasant place to start, and give you a good introduction to Portugal. I'm not sure it will be open in November, but a few years ago we stayed at this casa rural just north of VdC, an old manor house, where the son of the family was the host. Just outside their gate was a chapel to Santiago, which he told us about. A bit of a splurge, but an amazing place and just two short railway hops out of downtown Viana.
