Hello, we are having difficulty contacting any of the lodgings (Casa Quiroga & Casa Xato) in Biduedo. Has anyone stayed at either of these places? We are in California and aware of the 9 hour time difference.
the emails we have are no longer good and the phone numbers we found online and verified in camino book.
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thank you

They may be closed for the season, though Casa Quiroga seemed to be family operated and lived-in when I was there. It is very comfortable. The only phone number I have for them is 982- 187299; Fax 982-195349.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Stayed in Casa Quiroga in 08 , great rooms with exposed rocks , ensuites , lovely beer garden when hot.
Just watch the pilgrims rush past........... BUT

The MMDD did rate very highly in 08 Casa Xato .
We went there for drinks in the late part of afternoon and met lovely owners and returned for dinner.
If the same people are still there you will have a wonderful meal .
We were directed there by a man walking with his donkey from Paris.
We had been with him for a few weeks...........the donkeys will average 4km an hour.....them and us...lol
He stayed there because of animal accommodation....................President of CARE , France......married to sister of the ex Pres. of France........enough said.

Your decision , very , very , very quiet place to stay.
We had walked from Ruitelan , were a tad tired one would say , great beer in Quiroga's beer garden and then a magnificent dinner.
Quiroga had just opened , Xato in farm situation in a very small community.

Would stay there again.
Buen Camino , David

I have also emailed both unsuccessfully for a one-night July stay. I have changed plans since and will move on to Palas de Rei. They both have consistently good reviews.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Biduedo to Palas de Reis is 79km. Do you have intermediate stops in mind?
OMG! I do this ALL THE TIME!! . I originally wrote Triacastela and (...of course!) changed it to Palas de Rei! For some reason, after Ponferrada, I cannot get the villages/stops straight! Thanks Falcon!

I stayed at Casa Xato last year and didn't care for it. I remember things not being very clean and it was freezing.
