Central way - detour to Vigo after Tui?

Time of past OR future Camino
Starting Camino primitivo on 7th of June 2016
Hi!

I'm walking Central way of Camino Portuguese at the moment. I would love to pass Vigo to visit Cies Islands so I'm wondering if there is a connecting way to Vigo after Tui? I've seen a map which shows there is a way (photo attached below), but I don't know if it's waymarked. If anyone knows anything about that part I would really appreciate your help.

Thanks!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Hi Anja22 , welcome ! I don't know that route to Vigo, have walked Tui to SdC twice , last in 2013. The route seems to be only a few Km from Tui and the total distance no that far so I'd say definitely worth the diversion to see Vigo and the Cies Islands ( hope you like gulls and their songs, and beware their thieving skills ! )
I would also return to the route to see O Porrino - Redondela . I'm sure someone who knows more will be along in a minute ! Buen Camino

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Thank you for the information guys!

Buen Camino!

An option is to walk either from Tui or Valença westwards to Vila Nova de Cerveira-probably at the Portugese side it is waymarked with boue waymarkers to Fátima but I am not sure.but it is an easy way although along a national road-I drove it many times by car.
In Vila Nova you can head for A Guarda and then follow the waymarked coastal route to Baiona and Vigo. A walk about 5 days in total.
From Nigrán , 20kms before Vigo you can follow green waymarkers which lead you along the coastline instead of the yellow ones into to hills.
You can see the Cies islands when you follow the green waymarkers.
From Vigo you can follow the waymarked coastal way to Redondela where you will hit the central route in Redondela.
Tip in Redondela. Forget the big noisy smelly albergue in Redondela and walk 3 kms further to Cessantes where you find the Refúxio de la Jérezana. Much better ! It is well waymarked by signs on trees and lampposts after Redondela.
