Hello! My name is Stephanie. I'm 28, living in Portland, OR, and brand new to the forum. I've spent the last couple days pouring over these pages and I'm so excited, I wish I could leave tomorrow! But alas, I have to wait until May 2011. I'll be flying to Paris and then taking the Le Puy route down to SJPP, then onward to Santiago via the Camino Frances. It will be my first Camino. I have long dreamt of walking the way and decided last month that next year is finally the time. I have not started training yet, though I am avid everyday walker - at least 4 or 5 miles daily, and sometimes far more. After Christmas I will start training with a pack! I'll be going alone, which is a bit nerve-racking as I speak no Spanish, but a vacation in Montreal last month made me realize my French is not as nonexistent as I thought. I start a French course in January, and am hoping English, French, and a few choice phrases in Spanish will be enough to get me through. I'm also a vegetarian of over 10 years, I'd imagine that will have to change! Looking forward to learning from and with you all! Fair winds, Stephanie
