We're planning to do the Caminho Português in 2020, with variations. One of these variations is to include Fatima in our walk.
The Associação de Amigos dos Caminhos de Fátima has their own credential (Pilgrim's passport).
Is this credential accepted by the Pilgrims Office in Santiago?
Thank you
Buen Camino!

It is accepted, I have used it. The credentials from them is actually a great one as it has the route printed on it.

You will find the path from Santarem to Fatima direct is hilly in places, but a far more pleasant walk than the path from Santarem to Tomar that is often along main roads without a path to walk on.

From Fatima you then continue to Tomar or Ansiao to join the main route to Santiago. My personal favourite is to walk to Ansiao but both routes are beautiful. They are mainly off tarmac and follow tracks through rolling hills of central Portugal.

One of my favourite albergues on the Caminho Portuguese is in Monsanto, halfway between Santarem and Fatima.

Enjoy this very special part of the route. Bom caminho.

P. S. Please remember that this route to Fatima is technically not part of the official caminho Portuguese route. However, it is well marked all the way with blue arrows to Fatima and then yellow arrows to Santiago. The office in Santiago fully accept it as part of the caminho.
