Are there addresses where items can be shipped ahead for when I arrive? I'm looking at food and nutritional supplements that weigh too much to carry for the full 5-6 weeks.

Marcy, the pilgrimage may be centuries old, but Spain is in the 21st century. With limited exceptions, I am confident you will find what you need while walking the Way.

There are plenty of shops, supermarkets and health food shops in the bigger towns and cities along the Camino.

Hi, marcy,
I know someone who needed to ship medical supplies ahead. What she did was make reservations at several points along the way in private accommodations. Then just email the owner and ask them about sending stuff ahead, all said yes in my friend's case. In one or two instances she had to change the reservation to a different date because it's hard to know exactly when you will arrive, but that was no problem. She sent the packages out after she arrived into Spain, because sending from overseas might trigger customs charges or some other headache. Good luck! Laurie

This subject has been already covered in the forum (see the search box).
Basically, you can send parcels (up to 20 kg) by regular mail office (Correos de España), addressed to yourself and "Lista de Correos", with post code, town and province, to any post office on the Camino. Note that big cities may have many post codes (meaning different post offices). Not sure if the service is only available in the Frances, or also in other routes.
Give Correos 4 or 5 days to carry things to destination. Up to 30 days to pick them up. You should produce an ID.

You can also send byicicles; Correos provides the packing.
Attention: Correos apparently has joined the "baggage transfer" business. The note is not clear, but apparently a customer can send backpacks from albergue "A" to "B". This services is available from Sahagun to Compostela.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
