Getting from Pamplona to SJPP

Don Ebbs

Time of past OR future Camino
I will be walking the Camino starting at SJPP on the 9th of September thru the middle of October
I am going to be in Pamplona on the 9th of September and am trying to figure out the best way to get to SJPP, the bus seems to take way longer than I would like it to take, Is there anybody out there that will be there the same day that would like to share a cab or does anyone have any other ideas on how to get there quickly, and fairly inexpensively....this is my first Camino and like all newbie's I'm kind of lost!

Don,

Pension Corazon Puro provides a transfer service; they meet you in Pamplona, host you at their pension and drive you to Roncesvalles or SJPdP next morning. Reed more on their web.

I stayed with them last October on the way down from Roncesvalles. All was comfy and the dinner delicious.

Buen Camino,

Margaret Meredith

Unfortunately, they are mutually exclusive! If you can find at least two other pilgrims, the total taxi fare will be about 100E. The bus is 20E.

Buen camino.

The landscapes are great, and the bus is always full of nervous "pilgrims to be". Everybody is excited and in a social mood. Is is a good time for knowing people (from many, sometimes unexpected, countries) you are to meet at albergues, over and over, the next weeks. Remember, the Camino is also a great social experience.

Your only practical option is Conda bus (a subsidiary of ALSA). The bus leaves from Pamplona bus station. See ALSA international schedule. 1:45 trip time. Remember the distance is over 70 km through mountain terrain so even a taxi will take more than an hour.
