Getting to Cebreiro

I'm planning to walk for 7 or 8 days with a group of friends from the UK from Cebreiro to Santiago at the end of August. I wondered if anyone out there can give advice on how to get to Cebreiro from either Santaigo, or Oviedo airports (presuming these are the closest!). Or perhaps it may be a better idea to revise our starting point? All suggestions gratefully received. We are all first time pilgrims, but carefully and excitedly planning our pilgrimage in the weeks ahead.
Thanks and blessings to all for the New Year,
Simon

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

AFAIK there is no public transport to Cebreiro (it's only a small place), though there's a bus along the main road at Pedrafita - see other thread

Lots of people start in Sarria (see other threads) as it's easier to get to; I suspect that those starting in Cebreiro find someone to take them there by car ;-)

I suspect that flying to Santiago would be the easier journey, as there's a direct bus to Lugo from the airport. You would have to check the timetables and see what connections there are. Asturias airport is not very near Oviedo (which is no doubt why they renamed it - nearer to Aviles. It's very convenient for the Coastal route to Santiago, which more or less goes past the airport, and Oviedo for the Camino Primitivo, but not very convenient for getting to Cebreiro. You would need more time for those options though.
