How is the Primitivo in October?

I'm starting to dream about/plan my Camino for next year. I'm thinking of the Norte/Primitivo combo, beginning in September. If I start in early September I should be on the Primitivo late September/early October.

My sense is that this should be a good time to walk. What do you veteran Primitivo pilgrims think?

I left Oviedo on September 16 this year, arriving in SdC on October 1. Based on what I experienced, the weather should not be a concern. The temperatures were pretty good - never too hot or too cold - although there was a fair bit of humidity some days. Most days there was a combination of fog, sun, cloud and a bit of drizzle. However it never rained very hard. On the Hospitales day it was pretty windy and the drizzle seemed to be coming sideways for a time, but with with a decent poncho even that was not a big issue. If you get the conditions I had, you will be fine and really enjoy it.
 
I waled the Primitivo from 3 to 10 Oct this year and the weather was fine. The only hiccup was that there were a few very misty days but nothing that caused a problem. The way is very well marked and do try to stay at the albergue in Samblismo and Vilar de Cas at the Hostal A Pocina de Muniz which is truly outstanding.

I loved the combination of the first half of the Norte combined with the Primitivo. I walked in April/May, but many love their fall caminos and it seems you will be starting early enough.
 
I started the Primitivo on Oct.3 and it was beautiful until the last two day when I had some rain.

I'm interested in this thread as well, I'm planning the same combo for May/June 2022 because I experienced the Frances in September and May/June seems to be greener and less rain on the coast.
 
In 2016, the Camino Primitivo from the end of September through the first week in October was HOT, HOT, and HOTTER. 40 degress C and sunny with forest fires. We watched the forecasts until we just days from leaving the US, and by the time we started all had changed.

We did el Primitivo this year from Oct 12 - Oct 26. We had a few wet days and the wind across el Hospitales was very strong but by all accounts, it was the best route. El Primitivo is exceptionally beautiful and the albergue @ Bodenaya is probably the best I have ever stayed in.
