Starting in Jaca during Semana Santa. Does anyone have suggestions for accommodation? Also how difficult is it to walk the road from San Juan de Pena to Santa Cruz? Many thanks!

Hi, Cathryn, if there's any way you can do this, at least if you are starved for mountains like I am, find a way to get up to Somport pass, if for no other reason than to breathe the beautiful air and look at the snow covered majesty all around you. The municipal albergue in Jaca is fine, but it doesn't open till very late in the afternoon. Info on where we stayed is on this thread -- https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/our-camino-aragonés-june-2015.36782/.

The descent from the monastery to Santa Cruz is the worst descent I have ever had on any camino, and I've walked a lot of caminos. My knee is still not totally recovered, ab out 9 months later!
