Don't spend too much time in advance worrying about leaving Deba. When I walked in May, the town and albergue in Deba were very organized about the challenges in following the markings on the way out of town. Make sure you stop by tourist information in deba to get a free 'map' of the tricky bits (if you plan to stay at the municipal albergue located in the upper floors of the train station, you have to visit tourist information to check in.). The organization and the hospitaleros in Deba were second to none.
