Looking for info on the Mercados not to miss along the Camino Frances. Thinking about our other trips to France, Spain and Portugal and mercados such as La Boqueria in Barcelona and Mercado de San Miguel in Madrid. I love seeing and sometimes purchasing all the fresh fruits, vegetables, seafood and other foods in these markets. Suggestions please? (Yep, a refreshing question not about socks, ponchos or sleeping bags, lol)

Smaller towns of course have their weekly open air markets.

For the bigger towns.
Pamplona.

Logroño. My favourite!

Burgos

Leon

Ponferrada

Astorga
Weekly open air market on the Plaza Mayor.

Then of course the wonderful mercado in Santiago de Compostela!

From an old (2016) Camino journal: Cacabelos street market "9th and 26th of each month"

They DO sell socks. however, - bought some hand knitted woollen ones that lasted for years.
