Fantastic new albergue, opened in April, just 1.5 kms after Triacastela. It's called Albergue Ecologico El Beso (The Kiss), and as the name implies, they are all eco-friendly. The location is incredible, in the tranquil valley on the road to San Xil.

Costs: 8 euros for the bed, 3 euros for breakfast, and donativo for the vegetarian dinner.

The hosts, Jessica and Marijin, are former pilgrims. Along with their sweet dog, Chico, they provide exactly the kind of hospitality that keeps the spirit of the Camino alive.

Even if you want to walk on to Samos the next day, you will add only 20 minutes to your walk. Albergue El Beso is definitely worth the diversion to get away from the busy-ness of Triacastela.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thanks i was just looking for something after Triacastela.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Stayed there in May. Lovely setting and delightful hosts

I could not agree more with your comments, Nancy about El Beso. I spend a wonderful evening/night in this albergue with Jessica and Marijin and two other pilgrims shortly after they opened in late April of this past Spring. It is one of the highlights of my Camino.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
As i was going to Samos I didn't stay there my self but I sent a Camino friend there and when I met him 2 days later he was thankful. He loved it.

I stayed here on 25 Oct 2014, and it was WONDERFUL!!! What a treat to see photos of the building of this peaceful albergue! I'll never forget the breakfast of hot crepes with about five or six different types of jam - including fig and blueberry!!
May the Camino watch over this great little family ~ ~
