Does anyone know this little town on the Camino Portugues?
We are staying in the Albergue Camino Portugues. Does anyone know if you need sleeping bags or do they provide blankets?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Hi, do you mean the Albergue de peregrinos de O Porriño?

Or the Alojamiento Camino Portugués?

The first one is the municipal albergue, costs E6, is open all year (15:00 – 22:00), and does not provide blankets. In winter they put the heating on in the evening, but it goes off during the night, so you will need a sleeping bag if you stay there.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
We stayed at the Alojamiento just last March. It’s just down the street from the municipal. Modern and clean with pod-like bunkbeds. I don’t remember them offering blankets. One piece of advice is to take the path along the river into O Porrino so as to avoid several kilometers of walking along the busy highway. As you come out of the woods, you will walk right past the municipal albergue. Take a left at the street and you can see the Alojamiento. Bom Caminho!

I was in contact with them recently about what they provide and they did not mention blankets. Here's their email address if you want to follow up with them directly:

We walked the Portuguese last May without ever using our sleeping bags. The alojamento do give bed sheets, pillows and blankets

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I stayed there last October. I don’t remember if there were blankets but you didn’t need it. It was crowded. There were a lot of non Pilgrims advice remember. It is very clean and comfortable. The curtains for the bunks are great. Highly recommend the place.

Hi Willy, thanks for your Post. Is the path running beside the River obvious - does it have any markings. I'm doing that route in October.
