Permethrin treated silk sleeping bag liner

Planning 2 weeks of Camino Norte in May 2019
Looking for a very lightweight silk sleeping bag liner that is treated with permethrin or some sort of insecticide that would kill off any bed bugs in the albergues. Have found one for about $75 which is 100g but wondering if anyone knows of a cheaper one?

Permethrin is an insecticide, but it isn't a repellent against bedbugs. So while being in contact with Permethrin will kill those who haven't developed a resistance, they will still have plenty of time to get their blood meal first.

Hmm i was afraid you might say something like that. Maybe I should either spray myself with deet or something similar before going to bed or will just sleep on the floor with my air mattress. Thanks

Deet will work, although it can be harmful to certain synthetics. And being on the floor will not keep bedbugs away. While bedbugs can reside on the seam folds of a mattress, they can also be in baseboards, wall crevices, between mattress and foundation, etc.

Being bitten by a bedbug(s) while on Camino is a possibility, but not a high probability.

@davebugg unless you happen to be me! For my next camino I now have an extra long silk sleeping bag liner with hat elastic threaded through the top so that I can cinch it closed over my head, effectively making myself a little tent. There is still a pinprick of light visible at the closure and, knowing how the bedbugs relish me, fingers crossed that none of the little blighters find a way in.

I made a similar 'little tent" out of fine midge netting. The head end I could lift up off my face with a line that could tuck into the slats above etc.. Inside which slept in a cheap silk bag. All treated with a d.i.y. bottle of permethrin spray. (Quite right its not a repellent, its more I wanted to kill off whatever eggs were left)
Thus assuaging my newbie paranoia I slept well, probably mocked by anyone who noticed this.
I did the recommended freezer treatment of everything when I got home.
I didnt meet anyone who complained of bugs, but I can deeply sympathise with anyone who worries about them ,be they pilgrim or albergue owner.
