Only just found out about a experimental printmaking project, launched by Emma France Raff who now lives in Berlin. She uses surfaces like manhole covers and grids as a template to print on fabrics or paper with eco friendly ink. She likes to call it 'reversed street art' and came up with the idea in 2006, while living in Portugal. (video)

A great idea, especially because I remember seeing quite a few nice manhole covers and drain covers on the camino and in Santiago. That would have made a fab souvenir, and applied Camino art. Maybe next time.
