Taking seriously the concern about weight, how important is a sleeping bag when travelling mid -September through all of October?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
depends on how you sleep. there are about 100 threads on the forum discussing every aspect of whether to take (or not) a sleeping bag so reading through some of those might help you decide what's right for you. Most likely you'll want one in October - particularly the end.
 
2024 edition: The Brierley Camino Frances Guide
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
