Some lovely Guemes news

Time of past OR future Camino
.
If you've stayed at Ernesto's fine establishment, you probably saw all the old photos of his big world trip, posted up on the wall of the snug next to the dining room. Well I'm happy to report that he's made another trip, and it's to visit three other Guemeses - in the Americas.
Here's a lovely article about his visit to the island of Guemes in Washington State USA, as told by the local Anacorta newspaper.

Backstory to this post:
In 2013 I walked the Norte. Before I started I met AubreyL on this forum, as we tried to work out what accommodation was available at the end of March in Irun. We started on the same day but didn't actually meet until Gernika. And subsequently we criss-crossed for a few stages, including staying at Guemes at the same time. She grew up near Guemes island and mentioned it to Ernesto when we were there. And it seems others have mentioned it too. She spotted the link and sent it to me. Sometimes I quite like the internet.

I enjoyed meeting Ernesto in 2016 while on the Norte and staying at his albergue. His life story is fascinating and his many accomplishments are amazing! I wish him a long life and he's well on his way at age 80!
