Someday

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
I was expecting a poem. Please, allow me....

Someday
Someone
will be going through
your belongings
and find the Compostela.
(And your credencial.
They will] Open it
and [find] all these faded stamps
and wonder
who you were,
where you went
and why.

I wonder why these posts arrived today? As I was out walking this morning, testing my poor old knee, I was doing a few things in my mind: trying to be where I was; thinking of Dave Bugg, and saying: Dave Bugg, Dave Bugg, with my footsteps. Then: You pick em up, I'll put em down, with my footsteps.
Then: Dear Pilgrim, who are you? When, how, did you become pilgrim?
So, who am I ? I have the nerve to describe myself as a pilgrim.
What gave me that right?
What is a pilgrim?
Who is a pilgrim?
In 2006 a friend had enough time to plan walking the Camino Frances from Roncesvalles. I walked with her. An amazing grace.
In 2013, same friend had more time available, and together we walked from Oporto to Santiago. Once more, a gift.
In 2017, a very painful week walking from Leon to Oviedo. Still, a blessing.
2018, a rebellion! A flat walk along a river!
2019: if all the stars align, the Camino Ingles.
Will all this make me a pilgrim?

Of course it will, Kirkie, cuz you already are a pilgrim...a remarkable pilgrim and I'm so glad to know you virtually and often see your input on many threads. You are not gone, just virtually walking here and there!
