Dear all,

Does anyone start in San Sebastian tomorrow morning (08/26) and looks for a walking group for the day?

Best,
Ludmilla

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

How is your Spanish? They speak basque and Spanish at the main donativo albergue. I went through there and was the only person who flew in from the states. Hardly any British walk the Norte.

That albergue is extremely strict about time and paperwork. If they say they close the door at 10pm, get there at 9:30pm, because if they shut the door, you will sleep on the beach without your pack.

And line up early in order to be admitted, they likely will be full.

There is a place in San Sebastián to get your credentia that's not the albergue, but their hours are meager. You can get the credential at the albergue.

Consider skipping laundry, the clothes don't dry well in the gym.

There is no breakfast in the morning. No soap in toilet or shower. Drinking water is tap from the laundry/bathroom.

The restaurants mainly serve tapas at the time you will likely want to eat. Maybe one or two places have menu del dia. Again, do not miss the 10pm door lock just for supper.

San Sebastián is gorgeous!

Next day is quite a hike, but spectacular. It's maybe 14 miles without breakfast, but it goes by fast.

Do you have someone transporting your pack or are you carrying it yourself?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Buen Camino Ludmilla! San Sebastian and the Norte are high on my list. I hope you have a wonderful time and safe travels.
