Stray agressive dogs in Brea between A Salceda and Santa Irene

Hi on the Camino in Brea which is between A Salceda and Santa Irene there are a group of approximately 10 aggressive dogs that have recently bitten a pilgrim. The woman attended hospital and reported this incident to the Police but little action has been taken by them even though the dogs have been reported previously. If you encounter these dogs please take care and report them to the police.

Thank you again for contemporaneous information on the Camino, particularly near where you live. I hope the authorities can do something about the dog pack. Dogs can be much more aggressive when they form into a pack. I may be at The Way in September!

We saw them in April when we stayed at The Way. There were 5 or 6 at the time and they seemed to be with a farmer ploughing a field. I made sure I had a sturdy stick with me! They did not look pleasant at all...

In fact the owners of The Way warned us about them... So they are well known.

Hi could you please tell me more about the dogs, in which area, France way? Thanks. I will take the Camino on the middle of April.

Original post is from August 2016.

@donalomahony is right - this is an old thread. I do not think there is a problem any more. I've walked past several times since without seeing these dogs or hearing anything about them.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Either an old thread or some old dogs!
