I may have to bus the section from Mansilla de las Mulas to Leon (in May). And it might be on a Sunday. Does anyone know if there are buses in the morning? The ALSA site currenty only has a couple listed, leaving late in the afternoon on Sundays. Thanks.

Hi, Sheesh,

I think that's right, I checked it on movelia.es which combines the bus routes of many different companies. It only shows the one bus at 5:50 p.m.

Is there a reason why you'd have to take a morning bus? I'm assuming you are going to walk into Mansilla. If so, instead of staying at the albergue there, couldn't you just hop on the bus into Leon when you arrive in Mansilla and spend the night in Leon? The Sat. bus schedule looks like it's 9 am, 10 am, and 4 pm. Just a thought, but maybe you've already thought of that and it won't work for some reason.

Buen camino, Laurie

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Thanks so much for checking that Laurie.

I was actually thinking I might be walking the 6 or so KM's into Mansilla from Reliegos on a Sunday morning and then take the bus, had it been available. But now I know it is not, I will dig deep and walk the extra into Mansilla on the Saturday afternoon and take the bus into Leon.

From another post of yours, I've already made note that you recommend Pension Blanca. So hopefully I can phone them a day or so ahead and reserve.

I know that plans usually change once one is on route, but its good to know what the options are.

Thanks again.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

That's not a bad idea. If you're going to skip a section it might as well be the stage where you spend half a day choking on the dust stirred up by lorries passing close by.
