Transport to Bilbao from middle of Camino Frances

Hi,
I am starting the Camino Frances in late September 2015 and walking for 2 weeks. I am 'loosely' aiming for Burgos but don't want to be tied into a daily walking schedule, which would be missing the point for me of doing the Camino in the first place.
My concern is that I have a flight home booked from Bilbao and, although I know I can easily get a bus from Burgos to Bilbao, if my Camino doesn't take me that far in two weeks does anyone know what the bus service is like from the towns/villages before this? Actually, I think I've just answered my own question! I could probably get a bus from X to Burgos and then on from Burgos to Bilbao.
But any helpful experience/advice would be much appreciated.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Hi Safari girl,

As you say, there are regular buses between Burgos and Bilbao. There are also (slow) buses from Belorado and Santa Domingo to Bilbao http://www.autobuseslaunion.com/PDF/Bilbao-StoDomingo-BeloradoIng.pdf (although you will probably get a little further than those towns).

There are regular buses to Burgos from Belorado and Villlafranca Montes d'Oca. Taxis are also an option as you get closer to Burgos.

There's some good information on this thread https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/atapuerca-to-burgos.26842/

From memory, there's a tourist office in Belorado (in the main square) and they have lots of information on the various bus options. We ended our Camino there in 2013 and they helped us with the bus timetables (we were also travelling to Bilbao).

Buen Camino,

Nuala

That's great. All useful information.

Muchas gracias Nuala!

There is also a train service to Bilbao from burgos, it passes through about 2pm. check renfe. Its a comfortable scenic trip and the station in Bilbao is very central and worth visiting.

Bueno - many thanks Christy. The train sounds like an option I'd enjoy. I'll take a look.

Autobuses Jiminez provides bus service to most places between Logrono and Burgos several times daily.

Villages located off the highway get poor service, sometimes once a week.

Burgos bus station site is useful for finding what bus service exists at any particular village.

Bus station Bilbao - find schedule for airport bus here.

Termibus is connected to the Renfe train Station (Abando Indalecio Prieto) by Metro and Cercanias.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Thanks very much for these details/links Whariwharangi. Really appreciated.
