Vote for a Spanish city for European Cultural Capital

The Association of Candidate Cities to the European Capital of Culture (long name!) conducts elections each year to designate one city as the European Capital of Culture. For 2016, one of the cities will be in Spain, and the voting is on.

Of the 15 candidates, I've walked through 7 on different caminos, so many members of this forum are bound to have favorites on the list. Tough choice though -- how do you choose from among Oviedo/Aviles, Burgos, Caceres, Pamplona, San Sebastian, and Santander?

Anyway, here's a link to the site where you can vote (you get up to three votes).

I learned about this from an email from some Caceres group, which is worried because Santander appears to be leading the pack with 17% of the vote, Caceres with only 13%. I'm imagining the sender has my email because last spring I spent about 5 days in the city trying unsuccessfully to get my heel back in shape for walking. I coincided with a big internet exposition in the Plaza Mayor and spent many hours there using their computers and talking with the staff. So, I think I owe them some effort on my part to spread the word.

Happy voting. Laurie

p.s. I wonder why there's no gallego city in the mix? Lugo, for instance? (I assume Santiago has received way too many accolades but don't know why they wouldn't be on the list either)

Vote for Burgos, it is on the Camino and has a similar "vibe " to Lugo.

PS I think SdC was a Cultural city a few years ago.
