Waterfall near Caldas de Reis

Planning my first CP this fall, and will absolutely add this to my list of things to see and do. Many thanks!

Brierley and Wise Pilgrim both mention it, but only in passing....

Visited twice and well worth it!
It's only a few hundred meters from when the Camino exits onto the road. Rather than turn left and follow the Camono, cross the road and walk straight. You'll see a small kids park on your left and just keep walking. Very easy to find but not well marked.
My first visit a fellow pilgram suggested we go and I didn't even feel like investing the few hundred meters but was very glad I did. Thus the second time visit.
It's free and you can put your pack down and walk in the shallow pond at the base of the falls. There are bathrooms and plenty of area for a picnic. There is a small cafe there to built into what was once a mill I think if you want a meal.
I was there in the fall and spring and both times the water was very cold and refreshing.
Also there were few or no pilgrams there, just locals and a few local Spanish tourists.

Hi Emia! I do not know what “this waterfall” is. But here is my blog entry for the stage Pontevedra - Caldas, when I walked the Portugues with two daughters and five grandchildren:

“A highlight was a recommendation from the hotel receptionist: the waterfalls in the Parque Natural del Rio Barosa. A slight detour but definitely worth it, if only for its entertainment value for the youngsters. The water cascaded from quite high up in the rocks into a pool from which it flowed over the large surface of the rocks below into another pool. The sun had come out by then to make it perfect. Right next to this was a bar/restaurant. So I /we could sit in comfort overlooking the “spectacle”.

Since our walk was in August (due to school hols) it was particularly hot and the youngsters had a wonderful time splashing about in the pools. And you do not need to be accompanied by children to enjoy the setting!

Visited Rio Barosa on our way to Caldas de Rei, it was a nice break after walking in the September heat. When we were there they were setting up for a wedding, also very popular with families having a picnic.
