Which route for a not very fit 70 year old & daughter?

Hi,

My mother will turn 70 this year and has expressed an interest in doing the Camino in some form. However, she is not terribly fit (but not unfit either: plays golf rather than jogs!) & I am a little overcome by all the detail available on the different routes.

We would hopefully travel (from Dublin) in May. I don't think she would walk for more than a week and I can't really leave my own family for much longer anyway.

I would be most grateful for any suggestions anyone may have: the Camino Ingles seems the most obvious because it's short but perhaps there is a good point at which to join one of the other routes and still allow for a week's walking.

Thanks in advance

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Sarria to Santiago in more than the usual 5 days would be suitable. There are hills, but you can stick to 10 km days to keep the fatigue low.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I will also be 70 this year. Been thinking of doing Camino for some time. This is the year. For my body I am doing some walking - 5 to 10 km a day at present, increasing to 20 in the summer. For my mind, I am reading everything I can get hold of. For my spirit I will have to wait till I get to SJDP on 9th September. Then, it will hopefully all click together - fit, knowledgable and in accepting spirituality.

I agree. I had thought the same thing. The way is not overly difficult and the countryside is pleasent (other than the cow dung  ). I would not want to miss the walk into Santiago if it can be avoided.
