Which route to do?

We are just back from 6 day Camino walk from Triacastela to Santiago and had a fab time. So much so we are planning an impulsive second trip in May! We would have five days and pondering two options. Saint Jean to Estella or Logrono to Burgo. Anyone recommend one over the other? Highest vote wins! Thanks!

I vote for St Jean. Although one of my favorite early mornings was the climb out of Atapuerca and through the beautiful park that runs through Burgos, you just have to trudge past the airport/industrial areas in between. Either way, it sounds like you will enjoy it! Buen Camino! - Monica :arrow:

Does it have to one one of those two? I'd choose Pamplona to Najera

I'd also go for Pamplona-Najera if staying on the Frances. Or a different Camino, such as the Ingles or Finisterre? Buen Camino!

jeez! That walk past the airport into Burgos was probably the worst experience of the whole Camino for me. St Jean to Estella would win hands down for me although from Villafranca on would be my pick. Anyway, any return to the Camino can only be good and everyone has their favourite stretches. I am just looking forward to 2014 when i will return to the Camino Frances and stop at different Albergues to the first time and take the different routes to the ones i did last time. Just a great experience no matter how many time your do it.

There is an alternate route into Burgos by the river, we took that route and it was beautiful, its all through parkland. Try that one next time.

Try St Jean to Estella, so you can have a long stretch that you haven't walked for next time, plus you can try the crazy high mountain and accept the challenge of trying to fathom what John Brierley sees in Larrasoana, that appears to elude the vast majority of pilgrims.
