June 5th Express Bourricot to SJPdP from Biarritz

Hi, my name is Henryk, (65 years old), from Poland. I plan my Camino in June, from SJPDP. On June 5, I fly from Krakow via Paris to Biarritz, (arrival around 4pm).
I would like to get to SJPdP by the Ekspress Bourricot bus from the Biarritz airport, it only takes about an hour. The problem is the price which for one person is 96 euro, but for two it is half of this amount, etc., the minimum fee is 19 euros per person.
Maybe there will be someone who plans to start the Camino on the same day and would be interested in this form of travel. If so, I will provide my e-mail address to discuss the details.
See you on Camino
Heniek

Hi, Henry and welcome to the Forum.

You are going to be walking the Camino at a popular time of year. In the times that I have ridden Express Bouricott, they have always been full. It is likely that this would be the same for you. I would highly doubt that there would be only yourself as a passenger.

My advice is to make the reservation as soon as you can, as the shuttle service is popular and there reservations tend to fill up ahead of time.

I very much enjoy taking the Express Bouricott shuttle; it is easy, quick, and a beautiful ride.

Hi, Dave (?)
Thanks for your advice, in fact I have already pre-booked for the journey to SJPdP on the Bourricot bus.
Nevertheless I was hoping that at the Forum would find someone interested in traveling by bus at the same time.
Buen Camino

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

It sure doesn't hurt to do so. :) I just thought that it might help to know that it is more likely that you will only be paying the 19 Euro. Buen Camino.

You can also look for people on your flight who may also be pilgrims. I think Express Bouricott is only allowed to pick up people who have "reserved in advance" or at least that is how it was several years ago. When people step off the plane, they can call for a "reservation" and still be a part of your ride, I think.

Hi, thanks, it sounds reasonably. As far as I remember according to the Bourricot rules of service this kind of "reservation " is possible.

You are correct, they do allow it. The biggest issue for those hoping to get a last minute ride is that there is likely no space available. It does allow for that possibility to fill any empty seats, though.

While waiting inside the EB office in SJPdP to have video gear transported to Roncesvalles, the phone at the desk was ringing continuously. Almost all the calls were wanting pickup that day, and the answer was that no spaces were available.

The year we rode, we were the only two passengers even though there were at least 20 other peregrinos on our EasyJet flight. Everyone else took the bus (since the train rails were out that year.)

I also think it gets busier as the primary camino season is arriving, so that may play a factor as to availability.

I was told the Express Bouricott service for my requested time was booked full. Then by the time I landed at JFK for a layover I had another email offering to split a ride with another pilgrim in a second van. By the time I landed in Biarritz the second van was full and cost only 19 euros. Express Bouricott was great! April 2022
