Today was an uneventful day walking along the lake interspersed with several stretches through the hillside vineyards.
I am meeting more hikers on their way to Rome, most who just started in Lausanne or thereabouts.
Today I went over the 500 mile mark (Yea!!!)
And celebrated with not only 1 beer, but 2 at dinner.
Tomorrow I'll leave early to hike to Saint Maurice.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

2024?
Congratulations on another milestone Bob! 🎉
I did today's section by paddle steamer (perhaps the same one in your pic) passing Freddie Mercury's statue enroute. I was feeling the Schengen squeeze & it was a way to save a day. Ideally I would have liked to walk it but you do what you've gotta do!
Happy trails 🤗

Getting ready to step out the door right now.
Freddie is south of me and I will definitely stop to say hello 👋 to him.
Looking at the map the castle is further south and I will also stop there.
@Bradypus ' Funny you mention the smoke on the water issue. I was doing the same thing yesterday!

Do you think that you could could mention your walks in kilometres instead of miles? Most countries except the USA use the metric system. Thanks. Bon chemin

2016 Sjpp to Sdc. 2018 Lisbon to Sdc to Finisterre. Next up hopefully VDP or Del Norte.

Just multiply miles by 1.6

500 miles = 800 kilometres.

A milestone to be sure! or should that be a kilometre stone? :D
