A Guarda - Bruselas or Convento San Benito?

I’m not sure if a mundane question such as this is entertained, but I’m prepared for the consequences … so here goes.

I’m torn between these 2 hotels in A Guarda: Hotel Bruselas and Hotel Monumento Convento de San Benito.

Both highly-rated IMO. The latter seems more highly recommended in certain forums but also more expensive (a difference of about €20/room/night), I believe because of its historical heritage. I’m not much of a historical buff, so i really don’t know if I’ll be missing much if I just went for Bruselas.

If you have stayed in either hotel (or both!) before, do share your experience.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I stayed in this hotel in last June and would highly recommend it. It’s not the usual Camino accommodation and I considered it a real treat. There’s complimentary port as a nightcap!
Omg I’d forgotten about the port! We had a very nice breakfast too which I think was included?

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
I stayed in Bruselas. Nice, modern, clean, room, good bed, great shower. Breakfast was included. When I told the manager that I would be leaving before breakfast, he had the kitchen make a snack bag (sandwich, banana, and cookies) which I picked up at the bar before going to bed. I'm not sure what it costs these days, but it's a good choice.

Buen Camino

I stayed at Convento San Benito - the service was wonderful, the history of the building was fascinating, the location near the water was excellent, breakfast was lovely. Highly recommend staying here. Also the fact that it is at the bottom of a quite steep hill, and Hotel Bruselas is at the top is in its favour after a day of walking :)

Even though I'm not a big fan of port, somehow the thought of a drink on-the-house always makes me feel festive.
