Kritimati (aka, Christmas Island) sees New Years Day four hours before Sydney. It's in time zone UTC +14. I'm a nerd.

An hour ago Peg and I caught the early fireworks show at Boston Common. Started at 7 PM (midnight UTC and London). There's another show over the harbor at midnight but we'll see that on TV at a friend's house.
