Buen Camino :)
Hi I'm wondering if anyone would be able to tell me the best and cheapest way to SJPP from Biarritz airport.
I'm doing my 1st Camino next May. I'm on a very limited budget and was hoping you guys would know.
Angie
Buen Camino ;)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Angie:

You can take a very short bus (? euros) or cab ride (approx. 23 euros) from Biarritz airport to Bayonne train station. You might even find other Pilgrims to share Cab, If you choose that route. Then you take the local train to SJPdP. I believe it is less than ten Euros.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-

I think it is 14 Euro on the train to SJPP from Bayonne.

When I travelled there in September the bus to Bayonne was 1 euro and the train to St Jean was 9.60 euro.
hope this helps

Cheapest? Walk or hitch hike. Google Earth shows D 932 from Bayonne to junction with D 918 (near Itxassou) Crow fly distance from Bayonne to SJPdP is 42kms so road distance is estimated 50km. Referring to a road map might be a good idea.

wouldn't it be a little dangerous to hitch hike? Does sound like a great idea though ;) thanx

Thanx that information is great ;)

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
@Mrs.DD
If I remember correctly forum member @Kiwi-family were planning to walk from Bayonne to SJPdP next year, but can't find the right thread right now. Maybe that could be of some help.

You can walk along the Voie de la Nive - but it will not be cheaper than taking the train because you will have to pay for accommodation for a couple of nights. But if you are happy to make that part of your journey, then maybe the cost can be measured in ways other than simply monetary terms.

I think I'll take the bus from airport then let the train take the strain :) I walked about 7 mile yesterday and by the time I came home I just crashed  thanx for your reply though
