Halifax Clarity has a good app which shows pending and older transactions which means you can track your expenditure. 2. Avoid Santander ATMs - charge 5 euros to use their machines. The ATM I always used for cash was Abanca - which also didn't add any transaction charges - also the case for other non EU visitors.
