So you've walked the Via Francigena, over two years?
Myself and another fellow are planning to do it from the Italian & Swiss border next year in the fall.
What would be your overall thought about this portion? Any personal thoughts on this section?
Hello Jennysa,
As to which one I like the best. They all have their own benefits/draws. Overall, I like them evenly, each having their own surprises, but all give satisfactions. Some are more difficult than others (less infrastructures), but that's to be expected and accepted. The C. del Norte...
Hi I am walking the San Salvador & Primitivo commencing Aug. 31, starting from Leon.
Anybody interested in walking some portion with me?
I am 66 years old, male from Canada. Retired science/culinary teacher/instructor.
Have walked ,in the past 6 years (from 2012), approx. 7000 kms of caminos in...
Hi Kanga,
Hey, it doesn't matter if the person snores - I've never been on a Camino where there is quietness at night. Must be one of those prerequisites - LOL. Yes, I also have done the Madrid - just last year in fact - one of the easier ones. This will be my 14 or 15th different route/camino...
Hello,
I plan on starting to walk the Camino de la Lana from Alicante on May 2. I may complete the Camino Sureste or Levante nutil Toledo as I did the section from Toledo to Astorga a couple years ago. Either way - I am flexible
Anybody interesting in joining me?
Paco Camino
Hello,
Anyone planing to walk from Alicante, along the Camino Sureste OR Camino de la Lana, on or about May 1 - 2 of this year '18 ?
I'm looking for someone to walk with.

My impression with the couple who runs the Orisson albergue is not positive. Best is to rest up in StJPdeP, and make it all the way to Roncesv. To me these two are very materialistic, and if you hadn't booked by now, it's problaby full, and they don't care to reply, as it not in their interest...
Donna,
Lucky you!, with your meeting with that fellow in Ourense. Yes, from my talking to others he is more irritable with males, but not by much. but I see your point. Hope he didn't put you off from other future caminos, like he might have done to those that started in Ourense, and had to wait...
Ah Tony, I think you've hit on a well deserved topic that is constantly discussed among many of us.
Oh Yes ! I too have encountered these situatuations, but as previous members idicated, the benefits outweigh the beefs. And then again I've continued to walk on several more caminos, slowly...
Hello P2000,
Wow, you mean there's another, worse than the Ourense fellow. good to know for the Primitivo Camino.
Yes, I do seem to remember, that the tourist office mentioned that the Albergue is now run by Municipal of Ourense. Such a shame, nice albergue, location.

Has anyone had 'negative' encounters with "That Man" (hospitalero) in Ourense?
I seem to be getting the impression that some few of us aren't the only ones.
If you're lucky to be 'signed-in' by the female hospitalera - Great ! They seem to alternate days in looking after the Albergue. Nice...
Hi Alan,
Quite a coincidence - Tenatively, I'll be near Ponferrada on that day, within a day's walk. I'm planning the Levante Camino, from Valencia, to commence in May, to Astorga, then onto the Invierno @ Ponferrada, onto SdeC .

I gather you're from Australia ? (N.S.W.)
WoW! And I thought It was only me, other than a couple others who decided to start the Camino in Ourense and they weren't allowed to check in until 8:00pm. Met them a few days later - we had a good laugh about him. However, the female hospitalera - was really nice when I first checked in.
I...
Hello Mary,
I did the VdlP, from Cadiz, back in 2014. Started at the end of April,
Arrived in Zamora near the end of May - the weathr was excellent into Santiago- Only had a few rainy/cool days. For me some cautionary notes: The Albergue in Montamarta - about 18 km from Zamora had highway...
Hi Laurie,
I was ammeber of this forum 4 yrs ago, but never got into it, as i never did any caminos. since then - 9 so far. Next one in planning - the Levante.
Well as to your question. The first one was done with my daughter, as I had the time after doing the North Camino and the English one...
Yes, I do admit he does keep a clean albergue, and I also was allowed to enter early (4:30) to shower, but as you also said - he is much more interested in his "Catering Business" - Strange though, as he is a pastor/priest. Maybe it's would be best to aim for this Albergue durning the week, not...
This past June I walked the Camino Catalan One from Barcelona to Logrono.
The first four/five days are the same as the C. Catalan Two. They diverge at Tarrega: Number One goes through Zaragosa and hooks up to the Camino Frances at Logrono, the Number two goes through Huesca, joins the Camino...
