Hello,

I am doing the Primitivo i April. My plan is to take the Hospitales Route, if the weather is on my side. I am struggeling to choose accomodation in Berducedo, so I need advice from those who can help me.

None of the albergues in gronze.com really appeal to me, but maybe I am wrong? Are there other albergues in the area that are not listed in gronze.com ?

Thanks!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

What specifically does not make it appealing for you so people can give more specific advice?

Hi @AK2112

I’ve walked the Primitivo twice. Based on my experience in October 2019, I’d suggest Albergue Camino Primitivo. It doesn’t show any reviews on Gronze, but is reviewed well elsewhere. It didn’t exist the first time I walked the Primitivo but was a welcome addition to accommodation options second time around. It had a nice ‘vibe’. Yummy dinner.

Hi @Pelerina

Thanks. We all have a tendency to look for places with good reviews, but I guess I will have to take your word for this option :)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I’ve stayed twice in Berducedo in Casa Marqués, both times in private rooms. There was no albergue there at that time, so I’m not sure if he’s converted the private rooms on the second floor to an albergue. They were fine.

The other option would be to continue on to La Mesa, where there is a big modern albergue/pensión. Not terribly well constructed so the sound echoes throughout, but the private rooms are on the top floor and totally fine.

La Mesa is of course an option, but I am not so keen on another 4-5 km that day ;-)

I can highly recommend Casa de Aldea Araceli in Berducedo, it is in a beautiful building, wonderful hostess, and great food (it isn't an albergue).

In Berducedo it is not easy to have a great and cheap accommodation. Last year (2022) I slept in Casa de aldea, not cheap but very pleasant accommodation. And don’t miss the dinner in Albergue Camino Primitivo (Vanesa 👍).

Thanks to those of you who have wished me Buen Camino pm! My plan was Salvador/Prim, but 1) cold feet because of a knee (old injury) and 2) would have to rush with no possibilty of short/rest...
