We have made a reservation in Centro de Turismo Rural Santa Marina in Portomarin. We phoned and faxed. They confirmed by phone. We would like to have a confirmation by fax to be sure. Is this necessary or can we trust the confirmation by phone ?

We also made a reservation in Airexe O'Cruceiro by phone (no fax). Can we trust this ?

Thanks Mario and Mieke

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
It is our experience at albergues, which allow advanced reservation, that if you mention a feasible arrival time, the hospitaleros will reserve your bed "on word". It very much depends upon how you phrase your request and communicate if you are delayed.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I have found that e-mail is the best way to make bookings in spain--- I've never had access to a receiving fax at any rate.

Just to echo Johnnie Walker's thoughts, I have frequently called ahead a day or two to reserve a bed and have never had a problem. There are lots and lots of small places that don't have email or websites. I am actually surprised at how trusting the owners are, no deposit, no written confirmation, so that must mean that we pilgrims are very good about cancelling when our plans change. Pat on the back for all good pilgrims -- and hoping that everyone will follow this rule of common courtesy!

Buen camino, Laurie
