I seem to remember that we paid 45 euro per night for a double. We thought it was a value buy and were happy with everything. (Of course, that is supposed to happen to one on the Camino, no? )
My favorite way to experience Burgos as a pilgrim is to stay the first night, when I walk, in at Albergue Emaus (in a church, pilgrim blessing at the evening mass, shared meal, newly renovated facility) then upgrade to a private room at Hotel La Puebla (large bathtub, high thread count sheets; ask for an interior room).
I stayed at The Jacobean for $45 euros per night for a private room and bath. It was clean and quiet...a nice change from an Albergue and close to the cathedral!
