We walked long days and ended up having two days off in Burgos, it was very busy and we ended up having to stay in a small hotel, don't seem to remember a wide range of accommodation in the city, just a heads up!
Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
I seem to remember that we paid 45 euro per night for a double. We thought it was a value buy and were happy with everything. (Of course, that is supposed to happen to one on the Camino, no? )
My favorite way to experience Burgos as a pilgrim is to stay the first night, when I walk, in at Albergue Emaus (in a church, pilgrim blessing at the evening mass, shared meal, newly renovated facility) then upgrade to a private room at Hotel La Puebla (large bathtub, high thread count sheets; ask for an interior room).
I stayed at The Jacobean for $45 euros per night for a private room and bath. It was clean and quiet...a nice change from an Albergue and close to the cathedral!
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
Now it's done, and I'm showered, fed and generally numbed with alcohol, it was great. Fortunately, the weather was cool all day, the rain held off and the terrain was rolling countryside.
