Camino de Costa Rica

Time of past OR future Camino
2011
We are wondering if some of you want to try a very different Camino crossing several climate zones ( some cool mountain sections but some hot and humid lowland) and experiencing a rural village to rural village hike including through indigenous villages. We are now ready for solo hikers but guided expeditions are available also. Now there is lots of information on our website, www.caminodecostarica.org.
We’d like to reach out to all of you and invite you to try this new world camino.

Just back from your fantastic country and agree it's a great place to see. It's on my list to visit again to catch sight of the many animals and birds I missed the first time - there are so many.

A calm and peaceful place.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Great! Thanks for posting this! Every hiker will help make it a better experience as we invest in signage, historical markers and help make cultural elements more salient. We are working with biologist and botanists to mark a bit more for better learning experience. The fungi are amazing!

Costa Rica has been on my radar for some time now... This will be my next adventure... in about 6 months.

my daughter lives in San Jose and I believe she is registered to do it in May. Next time I'm visiting will look into it.

We moved from the states to Costa Rica during COVID and have been training in Costa Rica for the Camino de Santiago—with a departure to Spain on May 3. We LOVE this country, its biodiversity, heritage and people. Can’t wait to do this hike next year! (I’ve attached photos from today’s training hike in the Osa.)

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
